Writing Classified Ads That Sells

The problem with placing your ads at the classified advertising network is that you are competing against many others but the good thing is most of the networks available online provided the advertising services for free, so you can have the opportunity of taking this benefit to advertise your offer or services.

 

But if your ad is not convincing enough to entice the readers to see what you have to offer then it will be submerged deep into thousands of other ads and people might never see it at all.

 

To make sure that your ads stand out in a crowd you need to have a winning formula for writing effective classifieds that will increase your response rate and your profits.

 

So here are the simple and effective ways of writing an award winning classified ads:

 

  1. List all the benefits of your product or services as much as you can.

 

  1. Narrow down your list by choosing the greatest benefits.

 

  1. Write the title for your ad using one of the edited lists. Select the one that could even entice yourself to find out more about it.

 

        Any title you write should make it stand out from the rest, stop the reader dead

        in their tracks, and make them curious.

 

        Your title is the first thing that the readers see and some readers don’t read but

        they scan. You have 10 seconds to fascinate your reader while they scan to

        bring them into reading your entire ad. Your title must be very captivating to

        grab your reader’s attention fast.

 

  1. Write the body of your ad using the features that support the benefits. Write as much as you can without thinking the final size.

 

        Do not write your classified ads by verbally throwing up any words to your

        reader. You need to be refined and put some thoughts into what you’re going to

        say.

 

        You want to simply introduce the reader to your offer and communicate the

        strongest benefits and how it will help them. Create a little excitement here.  

        Give the reader only enough to build curiosity so they’re driven to find out more.

 

        Always remember that there is only one person reading your ad so you should

        write your ad to only one person using ‘you’ and ‘your’ liberally. This should also

        be implemented in your title.

 

          Don’t forget to give the reader a clear call to action at the end of your copy.

 

  1. Most classified advertising networks have the limits of 60 characters wide and 5 lines long. Edit your body copy by selecting the most power words, arguments until it comes to the normal classified size.

 

  1. Read again your finished copy and polish it to make it even better. Leave your ad for few days and read again and polish some more.

 

Some classified advertising networks getting indexed by the search engines making it a powerful tool for getting search engines to notice your ads and sends you traffic. One of the most popular networks is http://www.Craigslist.com

 

Ads in Craigslist are copy, in a way, they are like articles but not as long as an articles. So you have the option to communicate more to your reader.

 

If you wish to place your ads in Craigslist then you have to use targeted keywords in the title and early and often in the body copy.
